Cornell Cranham's Drive-for-a Cure A Huge Success
Young Cornell Cranham, the son of Dr. John and Kim Cranham, recently raised nearly $60,000 for his newborn cousin, Addyson Kelley, and others who are afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis.
His idea was to hit as many consecutive drives as he possibly could, and to garner sponsorship for each successful drive. So early on a beautiful late-summer morning, Cornell started whacking balls at the Cedar Point Club. Despite the withering heat, he hit more than 1,000 golf balls by noon. He took a brief break for lunch, a dip in the pool and a TV interview, then went back to driving for a cure.
Cornell understands how important medical help and research are, since he has overcome great odds in his own life, born weighing less than two pounds! Not too may years ago, like Addyson today, Cornell's own medical issues would have resulted in certain death. His own life path is a shining example of what medical science can accomplish with proper funding, and his relentless spirit and energy on the day of his fund-raiser show again how powerful an individual can be.
